About:

The Elian Quintet is led by the guitarist and lavta player Elian Hägglund. The band’s repertoire consists of original compositions by Elian, through which the quintet crafts a sound that bridges Scandinavian roots with influences from the music of the Eastern Mediterranean. Together with a quartet of versatile, skilled musicians on bass, violin, soprano saxophone, and drums, they create a dynamic and varied soundscape, blending solos and grooves, where each musician has the space to contribute their own unique expression.
