With soprano saxophone, vocals, guitar, and the Ottoman *lavta* lute, Agnes Viksten and Elian Hägglund performs traditional music interspersed with stories about the origins of the tunes.
Agnes is a soprano and alto saxophonist who studied jazz at the University of Stavanger. She performs with and leads several bands in both Norway and Sweden, working across various genres. Elian holds a bachelor’s degree in contemporary traditional music from the University of Gothenburg; while rooted in Swedish folk music, he is increasingly gravitating toward traditions from the Eastern Mediterranean. Now, the two friends have joined forces as a duo, promising a performance that ranges from moments of vulnerability to high-energy intensity.
